A new property survey has revealed that, surprise!, Cape Town has the most expensive street in the country – and its neighbouring streets along the Atlantic Seaboard take the next five on the list.
Cape Town’s suburbs include Clifton, Bantry Bay, Fresnaye, Bishopscourt and Constantia, with a total of 15 out of the top 22.
The most expensive street is Nettleton Road, Clifton.
The remaining seven streets are all in the Johanessburg suburbs of Sandhurst, Hyde Park and Bryanston.
The top 22 have an average house price of R20 million or more, with Nettleton’s top selling house going at a value of R200 million. The data used house sales over a period of time to determine the average, rather than just basing it on recent sales. Here’s the list:
