The Department of Environmental Affairs has decided to withdraw its proposed changes to South Africa’s weather service legislation after they came to the realisation that they were being silly, but mainly because they were unconstitutional.

Winter is now pretty much in full swing and snow has begun to fall in many provinces as temperatures keep dropping across the country. As beautiful as the snowy icing may to look some, the harsh conditions have caused widespread havoc, particularly on national roads, and claimed at least five lives to date.

I’m sure the smarter audience out there – both boys and girls alike – will be well aware of the basic joys of having some talcum powder around. Perhaps more traditionally used to combat rash and aid in cut-throat-razor shaves, it is great for your feet when wearing sockless loafers, and equally useful around the nether region on a hot day. The latter being what I wish to talk about today. My point being – Imagine if your talcum powder had a menthol cooling vibe to it as well. Two words – GAME CHANGER. South Africa has it’s fair share of crazy weather conditions. Hell, right here in Cape Town we could be having a braai in Camps Bay watching the sunset, while Newlands is enjoying a monsoon and closing the curtains at 5pm.
