Kulula.com were the first South African airline to give the comic safety demonstration a try. It was cute, it got the odd chuckle, but soon it got pretty tired and cringeworthy. But let’s face it, it’s extremely hard to take something as earnest and serious as safety precautions and turn it into something people actually want to watch and engage with. But somehow Virgin Airlines have managed it.
