Nepal Has The World’s Fastest Zipline [VIDEO]

A tour operator in Nepal calling itself ‘ZipFlyer’ claims to run the world’s fastest zip-line, a 1.8km line that drops 600m, attaining speeds of 160 kmph. Honestly I’m not sure what kind of speeds zip-lines are supposed to be clocking so those numbers don’t mean much, but the helmetcamera bits in the video look insane. Have a look.

Gordon Ramsey suffered an effing back injury in the recent effing Soccer Aid, held every two years in effing England. The match sees a team from effing England play against a team from the rest of the effin’ world, in a charity match where all the effing proceeds go to UNICEF. Ramsey was taken out by effin’ Teddy Sheringham, and had to be taken off the field in a fucking stretcher. Video after the jump.

Remember Paul Molesiwa, the security guard we saw in the video of the two guys vandalising the Zuma penis painting? Louis Mabokela, one of the two vandals, laid a charge of assault against him after Molesiwa was shown on camera head-butting and flipping Mabokela to the floor. Molesiwa is expected in court today.

So there was a NATO summit ongoing in Chicago over the weekend – which naturally attracts a couple of protest groups, members from the “Occupy” movement among them. It also attracted police and Homeland Security, who proceeded to handcuff protesters, detain them at gunpoint, and ram into a crowd of them with a van.

National Geographic Is Live-Updating Their Mount Everest Ascent [GALLERY]

It’s Mount-Everest-climbing season, apparently – with the National Geographic team attempting to recreate the route used in the first American ascent of the mountain, the 1963 NG-sponsored American Mount Everest Expedition. The team is live-updating their progress online, with a live stream of photos, blog posts, and twitter updates. I think one of them’s using Instagram, too.

This morning we told you about the horrible incident that saw a group of boys in Soweto kidnap and gang-rape an underage girl on camera. Concerns were even higher, as the girl featured in the video was reported missing as well. The good news is that she has reportedly been found alive and is currently at the Dobsonville police station.

Brilliant Solar Flares Exploded From The Sun Yesterday [VIDEO]

Yesterday NASA managed to capture the clearest-yet footage of a solar flare in process after magnetic fields on the Sun’s northeastern curve exploded in huge streams of plasma and sun stuff. The footage only accounts for about five seconds of explosion, but it’s very, very cool, both in and out of time-lapse.

This is absolutely disgusting, and I’m not quite sure how I feel about the whole thing. It happened though. A group of boys in Soweto, aged between 14 and 20, kidnapped a 17 year-old girl, and then proceeded to gang rape her. The details get a little more shocking than that.
