CCTV Footage Emerges Of Bulgaria Bus Suicide Bomber

The Bulgarian government has released CCTV images of a man suspected of targeting Israeli tourists in a bus bomb attack. At least seven people were killed and 30 injured in the explosion outside the airport in the Black Sea resort of Burgas. Bulgarian officials suspect the attack was carried out by this suicide bomber with fake US documents.

Residential Buildings To House Surface-to-Air Missiles During London Olympics

Oh awesome, this makes total sense. The UK’s Ministry of Defense is planning to install surface-to-air missiles on top of residential flats in east London for the duration of the Olympic Games. The bulk of the missile array is intended for the Lexington Building Water Tower, which has about 700 people living in and around it.

Scary Homemade Bomb Left On Greek Train [PICS]

Greek police released pictures yesterday of a bomb left on a subway train by left-wing extremists. The explosive was made out of two small gas canisters with about one and a half litres of petrol, a timer, wires and batteries. A terror group known as the Urban Guerrillas took responsibility.

Philip Hammond, Liam Fox’s replacement as the UK’s Defence Secretary, announced to MPs that ground-to-air missiles would be deployed “to protect” the 2012 Olympic Games in London if deemed operationally necessary. This follows shortly after America announced intentions to send up to 1 000 security agents to provide protection for US contestants and diplomats.

Charlie Hebdo, French satirical weekly, was firebombed a week ago, after the publication put a caricature of the prophet Muhammad on the cover of an issue criticising the rise of Sharia law in the Middle East post-Arab Spring. And their newest issue has a caricature of the prophet making out with Hebdo’s editor.

Two days ago, blogger Shoshana Hebshi, a self-described “half-Arab, half-Jewish housewife,” found herself cuffed and thrown off a Frontier Airlines flight and strip-searched – because she was seated next to two Indian guys she didn’t know, and another passenger had found that suspicious.

Police have confirmed that the device attached to terrified Australian schoolgirl Madeleine Pulver was not a bomb, just a tremendously elaborate hoax. The device, attached to the girl by a masked intruder in her parent’s home, “gave the appearance of a legitimate improvised explosive device.”

French Journalists, Held By Taliban Since December 2009, Freed

After 547 days of being held as hostages in Afghanistan, two French journalists,Hervé Ghesquière and Stéphane Taponier, have been released and are due back in France today. The two were kidnapped on the 30th of December 2009 along with their Afghan translator, fixer and driver in the mountainous Kapisa province northeast of the Afghan capital of Kabul.
