In 1996 The Independent called Stephen Crohn, “The Man Who Can’t Catch AIDS”, after they found his white blood cells had a genetic defect that made him resistant to the virus even when tested with “HIV concentrations thousands of times greater than would be encountered outside a test tube.” Being “immune” to HIV, he saw all of his friends die and last month, took his own life at age 66.

CCTV Footage Emerges Of Bulgaria Bus Suicide Bomber

The Bulgarian government has released CCTV images of a man suspected of targeting Israeli tourists in a bus bomb attack. At least seven people were killed and 30 injured in the explosion outside the airport in the Black Sea resort of Burgas. Bulgarian officials suspect the attack was carried out by this suicide bomber with fake US documents.

Didier Lombard, the former chief executive of France Telecom, has been indicted by a court in Paris following allegations that he led a “corporate culture of bullying and harassment” which may have lead to more than 30 suicides.

R.I.P. Fleetwood Mac Guitarist Bob Welch

Bob Welch, formerly Fleetwood Mac’s guitarist and succesful soft-rock soloist of the 70’s, was found in his Nashville home yesterday, dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 65. Police reports say that Welch’s body was found by his wife in the mid-afternoon, along with a suicide note.

A suicidal woman who was about to jump off a bridge in Beijing whilst clutching on to her baby, was pulled back at the last moment by a police officer. Passersby also rushed in and snatched the child from her arms. Footage of this harrowing scene captured by surveillance cameras has been released, and can be seen after the jump.

Ian Jordaan, lawyer of the slain Teazers owner, disappeared last week, and the body of suspect Mark Andrews was found in the East Rand earlier today with a gun shot wound evident.

On Friday, Francisco Solomon Sanchez, who had tried to kill himself on at least ten separate occasions, finally managed to end his life by jumping into traffic from an overpass in California. Police say the 41-year-old man jumped from the 210 freeway, and was hit by at least one car after his fall.

One cannot but be amazed and horrified at the actions of Kipp Rusty Walker of Bend, Oregon, who stabbed himself to death on stage, in front of a live audience. Kipp had just finished playing a song called “Sorry For All the Mess”, at an open mike night at Strictly Organic Coffee Co. when he repeatedly stabbed himself in the chest with a six-inch knife.

A woman in Argentina flung herself off the top of a 23-story hotel, but her suicide attempt was unluckily thwarted when she landed on a taxi cab, thereby prolonging her life. The lesson being, if you ever find yourself plummeting towards the earth, try locate an empty taxi and get into the ‘bum-first’ position, unless you actually want to commit suicide.
