Former Springbok fullback Percy Montgomery saved a baby dolphin that had been stranded on the beach in Arniston in the Western Cape over the weekend.
The three sailors had been stranded on Pikelot Atoll, part of Micronesia, since March 31.
They claim they are on the little-known island without money and vital medications after the vessel left port without them.

South Africa is going to foot the bill for salvaging the Japanese fishing vessel currently stranded on Clifton First beach, according to the SA Maritime Safety Authority (Samsa). The owner of the ship, which ran aground on Saturday and has since moved 25m closer to the shore, has to date refused to cover the costs of the salvage.
