Our Kind of Traitor is based on the novel by John le Carré, an author whose film credits include: The Constant Gardener, A Most Wanted Man and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. His espionage thrillers are thought-provoking – more realistic than James Bond and less action-intensive than Jason Bourne.
Danish film director Lars Von Trier has a hard time compromising his vision, so it comes as no surprise that Von Trier’s most recent endeavour ‘Nymphomaniac’ is five hours long. The movie follows a sex addict named Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg) throughout eight chapters, vividly detailing her sexual journey using porn stars as body doubles for scenes of unstimulated sex. Selected press got their hands on an abridged and censored four hour version, and although it’s too early to say, it seems to be faring well, with The Telegraph’s Tim Robey giving it four out of five stars.
