Navy Kiss Seals “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Repeal [ICONIC PIC]

Two female sailors yesterday became the first to share the traditional “first kiss” on the pier following the repeal of the U.S. military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. And because people are clever about these things, they took a couple of photographs modeled after that post-WW2 first kiss photo. It’s very cool.

How do you like them apples? Thanks to a technical glitch, never before seen photos of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg have leaked online. His longtime girlfriend, his dog, and Barack Obama also feature in them. A Facebook user reportedly exploited a security loophole and accessed them.

Mangyongdae Funfair: The Last Theme Park In North Korea [PICS]

This fairly depressing photo series of Manyongdae Funfair, North Korea’s version of the Happiest Place On Earth, has just been released. The amusement park, located a few kilometres north of Pyongyang, is the last theme park in the dictatorship, which isn’t totally surprising given the dilapidated and dangerous rides on display.

You know that thing in sort-of-science-fictional shows or awful police procedurals where they have a blurry photo which they zoom into indefinitely and then use television magic to ‘enhance’ it and keep it from turning into the pixelated jpeg it should be? Adobe Photoshop can do that now.

Ugandan Police Spray Dye At Opposition Protestors [PICS]

Bravo. Anti-riot police used tear gas and water canons (loaded with dyed water) to disperse supporters of the opposition party in the outskirts of Kampala yesterday. The group had gathered to mourn people killed during demonstrations earlier this year.

Untag, Quickly: Facebook Enables Tagging Through Face Recognition

Reject tag. That’s the best solution to most Facebook picture problems involving you looking dodgy, drunk or disorderly in someone else’s weekend photo album, right? Not anymore. In more FB news today, the social network has decided it’s rad and totally okay to have face-recognition software automatically detect users in images, even career-damaging ones.
