A week or two ago we posted Kanye West’s original music video for ‘Bound 2’. That got a lot of tongues wagging, not least of all because Kanye appeared to simulate sex with Kim for pretty much the entire video.
This video is going to be better than you expect – trust me. It’s the masterpiece of one Matthijs Vlot, who is basically a video remix genius. He spends hours cutting and chopping video, and piecing it back together to create something that is greater than the sum of its parts. Literally.
Bad Lip Reading started small, as a humble YouTube channel that gently poked fun by dubbing over the audio of videos, and saying what it looked like the person in question was saying. But they have now taken on a totally different challenge, trying to string together a movie-length narrative from the first few seasons of Game of Thrones. You absolutely have to see how these guys have totally, utterly and profoundly altered Game of Thrones forever.
Check out this ‘Blurred Lines’ parody, made by The Law Revue Girls, a student group from Auckland University. ‘Defined Lines’ addresses the over the top “mysogyny” displayed in the hit song’s lyrics and music video. Our favourite verse goes a little something like this: You think that you’re so slick/ Let me emasculate ya / Because you’re precious dick / Can’t beat my vibrator.
You will be a richer person for watching this. Internet parody portal, CollegeHumor.com recently brought us this piece of quality humour, lampooning widespread ignorance of Facebook and the law. They’ve followed it right up with a parody rendition of Nickelback’s ballad, “Photograph”. Enjoy that. Just enjoy that. [Source : Biz Insider] [Thanks, Lize!]
Movember is now only a few days away and everyone is preparing their upper lip for majestic growth. True to form, local parody kings, Derick Watts & The Sunday Blues, have weighed in on the issue with a brilliant new single.
Derick Watts and The Sunday Blues burst onto the online comedy scene last year with their first single “Braaiday”, a parody of Rebecca Black’s “Friday”. That was soon followed by the very popular “Car Guard Song”, however, like so many before them, soon the pressure of being epic celebrities became too much. This exclusive video looks at the rise and fall, and rise again of the best online parody duo, ever.
From the creators of the awesome Braaiday parody comes another cult hit. Offering a rare glimpse into the daily experiences of the brave souls who put their lives on the line to protect our cars, Derick Watts and The Sunday Blues pay tribute to car guards everywhere. Click through for the video.
Just over two months ago the internet exploded with joy when Walk Off The Earth brilliantly covered Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know. At the beginning of last month, parody ensemble The Key Of Awesome covered Gotye’s cover with spectacular results. Click through for the video.
As the world anxiously awaits the release of Ten$ion, the next Die Antwoord album, check out this timely reminder, via a homage to the enfants terribles of Afrikaans hardcore, that gingers are people too.
This is just pure class. Sit back and enjoy as Jimmy Kimmel presents the true story of George W. Bush and his lifelong battle with the English language. An uplifting tale of how an inept president overcame his disability thanks to one unlikely speech therapist.
If you got tired of the ‘New York State Of Mind’ parodies, then I am happy to tell you there are others. And this time they’ve covered and tweaked Eminem and Rhihanna’s song, ‘Love The Way You Lie.’ Better yet, this one has to do with Prop 19. Weed-heads, this one’s for you!
