The castle is best known for being the birthplace of Mozart’s famed Requiem, which was commissioned by Count F.A. von Walsegg in honour of his late wife, Anna Countess von Walsegg, who died at the property on Valentine’s Day 1791.
Bizarrely enough, the addition of the canine instrumentalists is not a new adjustment to the piece but was written into the music in the 1700’s.
