The mother of Simpson’s creator, Matt Groening passed away recently. Groening is an American cartoonist, producer, animator, author, musician, voice actor and he wrote the popular TV show, The Simpsons, and his mother’s obituary shows exactly where most of the character names for his signature come from.
When quizzed about the name of their last CD, Coldplay only said it was a “concept album” and that the title referred to a boy and a girl named Mylo and Xyloto. Turns out it is actually also the name of a new comic book series based on the album. It will be launched at Comic-Con this weekend and was created by The Simpsons writer Matt Groening’s Bongo Comics Group.
Just in time to co-incide with the 500th episode of “The Simpsons,” Matt Groening, the show’s creator, has been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Simpsons aired its first episode on 19 December, 1989, so I’d say it was a long enough wait. There was also doughnuts.
