  African Cup of Nations Local Organising Committee head, Mvuzo Mbebe, told reporters yesterday that Cape Town had not been selected as a host city for the upcoming AFCON because it “did not meet the criteria for hosting,” but did not elaborate quite where the Mother City fell short.
