No body wants to think of the people behind the facade of an angry soldier. We don’t want to accept their humanity or their pain – not when they are Russian rebels, right? But their pain is real, their fear for their loved ones is real, and their anger is very real. Who is really to blame for the tragedy?
A rally of Kiev government supporters in eastern Ukraine devolved into a melee on Monday when the march was attacked by pro-Russia militants. Prior to the attack, the pro-Kiev marchers shouted “Donetsk is Ukraine” while waving Ukrainian flags. The marchers were making their way through the city of Donetsk when they were charged by attackers armed with baseball bats and fire-crackers.
