Remember Maleficent? She’s Disney’s interpretation of the wicked fairy godmother. You know, the the one who curses Aurora, AKA Sleeping Beauty. She’s been called “one of the most menacing villains in the Disney canon”, and came first in a countdown of Disney’s most evil villains (really). So who better to play her than… Angelina Jolie?

Because those guys take forever to make.

Disney’s 3D The Lion King reissue has been topping the box offices for the past two weeks, and netted them a cool $22,1 million over a weekend. So it’s not surprising that somebody in the studio realised that, hey, they have a bunch of other well-loved movies that they could probably re-release and make money with too.
I grew up with Gummy Bears, Smurfs and Disney’s Winnie The Pooh as my favourite daytime TV shows. And now, more than three decades after the last theatrical release, we will see a full-length, hand-drawn, Pooh movie. And I, for one, cannot wait.
