Jacob Zuma Is Essentially Delusional

That’s according to Andrew Heslop, editor of press freedom and media development at the World Editors Forum, who wrote an open letter to Zuma that was published in the City Press on Sunday. The letter was a response to Jacob Zuma’s speech made to a group of journalism students from the Tshwane University of Technology about “patriotic reporting.”

The ANC is outraged at the South African National Editor’s Forum’s reaction to its call to boycott the City Press newspaper, following its publication of Brett Murray’s painting. It has now gone a step further, issuing a statement calling advertisers to no longer advertise in the paper.

This weekend, the City Press reported that Minister Lulu Xingwana, on being told she couldn’t have her flight seat upgraded from economy to business class, she merely enquired, “whether or not this was because she is a k****r?” Xingwana has responded by saying it is all “sensational hot air”, and accused the paper of “one-sided and biased journalism.”

This Week In Sham Statistics: South African White People Are Going Extinct

Here is a good reason why statistics should rather be left to the professionals. A new report by the South African Institute of Race Relations “revealed” that South Africa’s white population was declining by about 0.3% every five years. The City Press then “extrapolated” the figures and concluded that whites would be extinct by the year 2161. Now people are freaking out.

I don’t know about you, but I for one am feeling like a real tit! I can’t believe I fell for that silly City Press article claiming Julius Malema uses his secret trust fund to fund his lavish lifestyle. It turns out he’s actually a young philanthropist and uses it to “fund charitable causes!”
