Who would want this book? It appears to me the perfect book for Capetonians living far away from home. They will page through and go, “oh ya, check this, I used to live there.” “There’s my house.” ‘I use to go running right there.” It’s perfect for an expat’s coffee-table; they can say to their dinner guests, “While I go and baste the chicken, take a look at that book, it’s where I used to live.” And then wonder why they are basting a chicken in a small London flat instead of living in Cape Town.

Cape Town ‘Won’t Be Affected By Fuel Shortages’

Yesterday, concerns arose that Cape Town motorists may fall victim to the fuel worker strikes that are plaguing other parts of the country, prompting many people to fill up their tanks before Western Cape pumps started to run dry. However, the Fuel Retailers Association has said today that it does not foresee major shortages impacting the province.

Google Launches ‘Umbono,’ Cape Town Based Startup Funder

Google has set up the first of its startup-funding offices in Cape Town, under the ‘Umbuno’ flagship. “Umbono” is isiZulu for ‘vision’ or ‘idea’. Google also showed that it knows how to make a girl feel special, saying it chose Cape Town because the city is in “the process of positioning itself as a hub for innovation and technology”.
