The ride is similar to those you rode as a kid outside the Pick ‘n’ Pay – you know, the space-ship or car that used to move about as your mom patiently waited. Banksy’s version is a little different, it delivers a message. The ride is not a space-ship or a car, it’s a dolphin struggling to swim through fishing nets and BP oil, installed as a reminder to those who have forgotten about BP’s role in poisoning the Gulf Coast of the USA.
The UK-based graffiti artist is synonymous with dark, satirical artworks. Canvas Elite, an online canvas art gallery has developed this amazing infographic that depicts some of the most influential and significant work thus far.
This graffiti was spotted last night in central London’s “Banksy Tunnel”, also known as “Graffiti Tunnel.” The double exclamation point doesn’t seem necessary, given the human-height hate lettering, but artists do as they please, we suppose.

Residents and art lovers in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia are up in arms this week as a local work of street art by world-renowned graffiti artist Banksy was inadvertently destroyed by a building contractor installing plumbing into a wall of a café. Full story and video after the jump.

The Melbourne-based Art Series Hotel chain is holding an art-stealing competition, starting this Thursday. For the next month, a signed print of Banksy’s “No Ball Games,” worth ZAR 125 500, will be hidden in different locations throughout the chain’s hotels. If people can find and steal it without getting caught, they get to keep it.
I know, I know; can you really steal art from somebody as dangerous and transgressive as Banksy? Two of his pieces, put together during his 2007 project on the West Bank, Bethlehem Santa’s Ghetto, have popped up in a show called Banksy: Original Street Works, at the Keszler Gallery. Banksy’s put up some new art on his site because all the other well-known people were speaking out about the NewsCorp. hacking scandal, and Banksy didn’t want to be left behind. Which is nice! Because honestly I’d almost forgotten about Murdoch. Way to be relevant, Banksy.
Street artist, Banksy, who has been nominated in the best documentary category for Exit Through The Gift Shop, has been told by the Academy award chiefs that he can’t attend the Oscars in disguise. Once again proving that the Academy are really just like a retiree committee, only richer.
