The CEO of AOL, Tim Armstrong held a conference call with 1,000 employees this last week to discuss the restructuring of AOL’s hyper-local news service, Patch. During the conference call an employee named Abel Lenz decided to commemorate the moment by taking a picture. He was fired for that.
Michael Birch, founder of Bebo the social networking site, sold the website for $850 million to AOL in 2005, but Birch has now bought back his webiste for a mere $1 million – just to to play around with it and see if it can once again prosper.
