Now the hotel remains dusty and abandoned, merely housing memories of its heyday, including wild parties in the 80s, along with a couple of ghosts of the people who died there.

The $1 billion project began in 2015 but was put on hold in 2019 when the Chinese-backed developer Oceanwide Holdings ran out of funding.
