My first image of Nelson Mandela took the shape of an illegal portrait, spray-painted on a concrete wall surrounding a rugby field in George, South Africa.
A man who is as well-known and distinguished as Nelson Mandela has obviously been credited for dozens of on-screen appearances, but surprisingly, he’s only been featured in one major motion picture.
Koos Bekker’s Naspers is doing very, very well. Thanks for asking. And it’s all on the back of TenCent, and a weak Rand. This, from Fin24: At 10:22, Naspers shares, which gained over 80% this year, were changing hands at a new record high of R1010.98, tracking a surge in Tencent shares in Hong Kong. […]
In his time, Nelson Mandela met the Queen for dinner, had a chin-wag with Fidel Castro, and shared an awkward hug with Michael Jackson.
It may not be Francis Bacon’s R1.4 billion best-seller, but you have to admit that half a billion rand is still a helluva lot, and it’s worth seeing what kind of art deserves that degree of monetary exchange.
Have you seen this stunner in Stellenbosch? You get your own vineyard, and your own olive grove without the massive ball-ache of maintaining a Distelle-level vine-producing farm. Just think of the kind of person you get to be when you own this place. Feel free to dabble in making your own boutique wine, take a jar of olives to your mates house when you visit. You’ll basically be the most refined person you know. Jislaaik, that’s lekker.

The legacy of Nelson Mandela all too easily overshadows the reality of the person he was. At the end of the day, he was a simple man who saw the wrong in the world, and committed himself to undoing it by any means.
The world lost one of its greatest sons last night at 8:50 PM. Since then, news stations, politicians and celebrities have been pouring out tributes for South Africa’s former president.
This is a truly sad day for us all. Some may have woken to the news of Mandela’s passing, while others may have struggled to sleep after hearing the news last night. Either way, we have all been affected. We are all involved. We all feel this loss.
Nelson Mandela dies. William and Kate were in Mandela movie when news broke. Springsteen lyrics sell for R2m. Luxury watch heist in Paris. Radioactive truck thieves will probably die. Justin Bieber detained in Australia.

You see and use these symbols every day – but do you have any idea where they come from? Believe it or now, many of the UI symbols that have become second nature to us actually have a meaning derived from nature, history, and psychology. Some of these symbols were specifically designed with the user […]

For most of us, finding a new Doctor that is competent, caring and close by is near-impossible. Finding the time to actually call to make a booking is even more difficult. Asking around often proves fruitless; online directories only supply contact details. And even if you find a doctor with a web booking form, how do you know if they’re any good?

The headphone-cable-tangle. Possibly one of the most common tech afflictions, and also one of the most mysterious. It plagues us all relentlessly. Even if you put a pair in your pocket, and remain completely still for an hour, the cheeky buggers still tangle themselves up in the most intricate and complex way imaginable.
You would expect the US nuclear launch code to be an impenetrable series of digits, numbers and symbols. It is, after all, the code that unleashes one of the most devastating weapons known to humankind.
