“Food Not Bombs” in Orlando, Florida, has been distributing free meals to homeless people for the past 30 years. A ridiculous new law now prohibits food distribution to the homeless without a permit – resulting in the arrest of 25 volunteers. Check out this guy, employing severe sarcasm tactics in order to respond to the police and their “we are only doing our job” reasoning.

Over the weekend, Shannon Stone, a firefighter, tried to catch a ball thrown into the stands during a game. What is normally great fun at these events, turned into a tragedy, as he lost his footing and plunged six meters to his death. What’s worse is that his young son can also be seen in the video and witnessed everything.

A Dutch TV show looking for the “worst driver in the Netherlands” has found a clear winner. During filming of the last episode, this guy had to accelerate up to speed, apply the brake and swerve to miss a giant obstacle. Instead of breaking, he opted for accelerating – ploughing into the camera crew set up, hitting two people, including the host, and one parked car.

Vocal genius, Matt Mulholland, has produced yet more hilarity by over-dubbing the famous lobby shoot-out scene in The Matrix, using only his voice. The video is complete with score and loads of “pew pews” for the gun sounds. It’s hilarious and reminds me that there was once a time where not every shoot-out scene in a movie looked like this one.

A female mayor from Davao City in the Philippines has punched a court sheriff, in front of numerous TV cameras, because the sheriff insisted on demolishing 200 shacks despite her request for a two-hour delay. A projection mapping by the Czech designer Pavel Novák turns the façade of a university building into a mash-up of 80’s video games – running the gamut from Pac-Man to Space Invaders. It’s called 8-bit Invader. The initial screening was for the 5th anniversary of Tomas Bata University’s department of visual arts in Zlín, Czech Republic.

The infamous red leather jacket worn by the deceased king of pop, Michael Jackson, in his renowned Thriller video, has sold this weekend at an auction in California, for $1.8 million. That is a cool R12.4 million at today’s exchange rate. The jacket also boasts Jackson’s signature on the one sleeve.
