Matt Damon and his mom – a teacher – recently took part in a public march to support educators. But during a television interview a cameraman of all people decided to pipe up, claiming that “10% of teachers are bad at their job.” Matt wasn’t having anyone potentially insult his mother and responded with: “Maybe you’re a shitty cameraman!” Cute, man!
You’re going to want to watch this. OK Go have put out a new experimental music video for their new track, All Is Not Lost. You remember that one video with the treadmills? Or with the Rube Goldberg machine? Yeah, this is better than that.
A clip of a distorted interview with a young black boy has raised questions about ethics in journalism in America. Responding to a news reporter’s question about what he’d like to be when he grows up, the boy replied: “I’m going to have me a gun! I’m going to be the police!” Guess which part of that sentence did not make it to TV?
What was obviously an awesome idea at the time, hasn’t ended up working out quite so well for two teenagers from Los Angeles. In the old days, one could probably get away with an old prank like this, but not with modern policing unfortunately.
Corne & Twakkie bring you a roundup of recent news on 2oceansvibe in this new segment entitled, The State of The Vibe. Quite handy, if you need a general update on the REAL headlines (in case you’ve been sleeping, or whatever it is that you do when you’re not here). Check it out: If you […]
There are two aspects to this video. The first is very obvious: girls chose to wash Russian-made cars in bikinis for Vladimir Putin, as the headline suggests. And the other is the awkward on air moment between the two television news presenters that happens after they cover the story.
You know those news headlines that you ignore, because you think they’re gonna go away? So you ignore them and they don’t seem to go away. And then they become louder – and suddenly everyone is talking about them. And you realise that you are now WAY behind and you need to catch up. And […]
Earlier this week Seth told you about the “Give Respect, Get Respect” campaign in America. It seems four- and two-wheeled road users in the UK might also benefit from this message. After seeing a video of himself assaulting a cyclist on the internet, a motorist has now offered his apology, saying he is “severely embarrassed.”
Where are you going to be at 18h00 this evening? I know what I’m going to be doing – and let’s be honest about this – you know what you should be doing too, right? Something awesome might happen. The Old Spice Guy has accepted Fabio’s challenge and they will have some sort of bathroom face-off, live, on YouTube.
As DSTV continues to bring out new technologies to disguise the fact that the actual content on Multichoice is a ball of shit, it is with the greatest sense of irony that their very own reality show is playing out and giving the true entertainment value we long for. Yes, it’s true. With all the […]
Former NFL star Isaiah Mustafa, the character from the Old Spice adverts, has received some new competition from former romance novel cover-boy, Fabio. Old Spice did some rebranding last year and Mustafa’s campaign is regarded as one of the greatest viral campaigns ever conceived. One has to wonder what Wieden+Kennedy, Old Spice’s agency, is up to now.
Are you a man (or a woman) who is able to turn menial, everyday tasks into a spectacular event? Then you most certainly have a place in our hearts here at 2oceansVibe. Our latest hero is a guy who makes chapatti (also known as roti) like a boss. Check out his mad skills inside.
A leopard that mauled 11 people in a fierce showdown with villagers and forest officials, in the Indian town of Prakash Nagar, West Bengal, has died of knife wounds after being captured. It’s been reported that the animal was also stoned by villagers after forest officials had eventually managed to subdue the panicked animal.
After a brief leaked appearance on Tuesday, the trailer for “”The Amazing Spider-Man” is back online for eager movie-goers to see. If you thought the crappy version of the franchise should never have been made, like I do, you’re in for some well-deserved relief: it looks quite good.
The Dirty Skirts long awaited third album, Lost In The Fall, is finally hitting the streets, with the first launch party happening this Saturday 23rd July at Zula Bar, Cape Town. Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria will be after that. 2oceansvibe has personally had a taste of the new album and we can categorically state that […]
There has been a lot of talk about Santam‘s new branding and, in particular, their latest TV ad, starring Oscar-winner film star (Gandhi & Schindler’s List) Ben Kingsley. I think they made a good move here, differentiating themselves from the ‘quick-fix’ insurers out there – companies who are quick to help until something goes wrong. […]
We have worked out a system for you to watch Rupert Murdoch get grilled in parliament, LIVE on your computer from where you are right now. That will be around 15h30 SA time. If you want to know where to watch, you need to be following us on Twitter and we will send you a […]
Matt Goss was the lead singer and one of the twin brothers who made up the band Bros. I was 11 years old when the 1988 hit “I Owe You Nothing” dominated the top of the charts and although I was still learning about what was and wasn’t ‘cool,’ I was sure as shit that […]
Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin seems to be loved by the ladies. So much so that a new online campaign urges young women to take off their clothes in support of his presidency. In this strange video, a sexy blond can be seen scribbling “I will tear my clothes off for Putin” on a white top in red lipstick before starting to undo her clothes.
By now you are probably familiar with the chaos surrounding Rupert Murdoch’s empire of media companies, including the hacking scandal that has seen “The News of the World” shut its doors after more than 150 years. So it’s only a matter of time before someone makes a movie out of the whole debacle. This is what it would look like.
Like bootleggers from the olden days, three American girls recently set up an illegal lemonade stand. They actually had the audacity to try and pawn their goods off to the unsuspecting public WITHOUT a city food and beverage permit! Luckily, good police work took care of that and the girls’ illegal and dodgy activities have now been brought to an end.
This is the latest Mastercard ad, running on New Zealand television at the moment – ahead of the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Pretty cool that they talk about the 1995 World Cup without mentioning anything about food poisoning. Follow the link to check it out.
The image of Jesus has appeared on some very random items in the past including a piece of bubblegum, a Kit Kat Chunky, and even an iron. But, according to an American couple, JC has now appeared on a discarded Walmart shopping receipt. What’s even freakier is the fact that they first saw the image just as they came home from church one morning!
Yesterday, the Sunday Times carried a story about a dog attack. A four-year-old girl was mauled by a Rottweiler in the upmarket Hyde Park shopping centre last Monday. But what was unique about this? The dog’s handler is a dog whisperer and also claims to be “Africa’s number one dog expert.”
Michael Wolff is a very influential American journalist who has lately been doing a lot of television interviews. This makes sense, seeing as he wrote a biography of media mogul Rupert Murdoch two years ago, titled “The Man Who Owns the News”. But see what happens when the BBC wrongly introduces him live on air as Ben Walker, baseball editor for the Associated Press! Awkward.
Most pre-season preparation has begun for northern hemisphere football teams that will shortly start their new seasons. Coincidentally, Spanish soccer club Real Madrid are in Los Angeles to face LA Galaxy on Saturday. They decided to train on the UCLA campus in preparation for the match. And drive golf carts around, into someone, with perfect timing.
Fox News’ Eric Bolling recently decided that one of the guests on his show was being too mean to George W. Bush. So he spoke up in defense of the weapons of mass destruction eff up. Try spotting the slight error in this statement: “America was certainly safe between 2000 and 2008. I don’t remember any terrorist attacks on American soil during that period of time.”
Anyone who has had the privilege of being at a Foo Fighters concert, actually, anyone who knows their music, will know the energy that this band has. Especially frontman Dave Grohl. On Monday night they performed at the iTunes Festival in London. Some fans had a fight and Dave was not impressed. At all. NSFW by the way.
Last week, an American firefighter, Shannon Stone, attempted a crowd baseball catch, lost his footing and fell 6m. He later died from his injuries. On the very same day of his funeral another fan fell at a game in exactly the same way. But this story had a better ending as he was caught by fellow spectators just in time, and survived.
Here’s a fun video on gun safety, by Derek “Tex” Grebner, who describes himself on his YouTube channel as “a pretty unprofessional outdoors show host and an unbiased online gear reviewer”. In the video, Tex shows us how not to draw your Kimber Pro Carry II .45 ACP from its holster, by shooting himself in the leg.
