This gem popped up in our social media feed yesterday, courtesy of one humorous individual. It is a billboard that’s been displayed in London Underground stations, and it advertises cheap travel to France’s northern coast. But it’s clearly an image of Llandudno beach in Cape Town.

There is no error in that headline – Nokia has really just unveiled the PureView 41-megapixel-sensor camera in one of its new smartphones – the Lumia 808. Additionally, the device has extremely good sound recording capabilities and will also allow the user to capture video content in full HD.

Murray And Roberts Will Build Cape Town’s Tallest Building

Cape Town’s new tallest building is set to start taking shape as construction group Murray and Roberts have been awarded the R1,6 billion contract to build the Portside Project. It’s set to stand at 130 metres tall, comprising of 32 floors, and will house 52 000 square metres of office space for 3 000 people.

A team of scientists has finished developing a cheaply manufactured paint-like product prototype that they hope you will eventually be able to put on the outside of your home. The paint will generate electricity from light – electricity that can then be captured and used to power the appliances and equipment on the inside of your home.

Dutch Architects Apologise For Twin Tower Blast Look-Alike Design

A highly embarrassed Dutch architectural firm has had to apologise for its design of twin skyscrapers in central Seoul, South Korea, because they look pretty much like freeze frames of New York’s late World Trade Center, as both towers exploded. The design for the luxury apartment buildings has enraged families of the victims of the September 11 attacks.

Cape Town Designer’s T-Shirt Pops Up Again In Modern Family

Jaco Haasbroek is a designer from Cape Town. This guy designed a t-shirt so cool that it has now been worn twice on one of the biggest TV shows at the moment. The shirt is called “High 5” and it popped up in an episode of Modern Family last month, and again on last Wednesday’s episode. High-five!

Sony Recalls 1,6 Million Bravia’s Because Of Fire Risk

Sony is to recall 1,6 million of its Bravia brand LCD TVs sold worldwide since 2007. This comes after several serious malfunctions involving parts melting, and even possibly catching fire as a result, have occurred. Japan’s trade ministry today instructed Sony to recall the TV’s as a precautionary measure to prevent further incidents.
