All Blacks star, and one of the most well known rugby players in the world at the moment, Sonny Bill Williams, wants to make Cape Town his home. His agent, who is currently in Cape Town, said Sonny is ready to discuss a possible contract with the Stormers. He could also climb into the boxing ring here as soon as November.
The story has been well-discussed this weekend, so you probably picked up that a lot of people won a lot of money on Saturday night. They placed bets on the 2oceansvibe Super 15 Multiple (see here), which is a weekly multiple that 2oceansvibe’s staff put together in conjunction with bet.co.za. This week’s multiple required four […]

The flurry of messages and tweets and emails I received on Friday night was quite overwhelming. This, as a follow up to some of the greatest advice I have ever thought to share on these hallowed pages. Allow me to explain. On Friday morning in the the Morning Spice, I ran a headline saying that […]
It’s Week 4 of the 2012 Super 15 tournament and it’s the first round of ‘big’ byes, with three teams, the Bulls, the Crusaders and the Lions, all taking a break and earning four points for their efforts. But what about the remaining 12 teams? Well, those 12 teams will be involved in six fixtures […]
I just browsed bet.co.za and looked at the Blues vs. Blues game this weekend. They’re giving some stunning odds on the first try scorer of the game. Check this out: While it’s surely within the realms of reason to suggest that the likes of Wynand Olivier (14 to 1), Rene Ranger (10 to 1) and […]
Dove are ready to announce their shiny new brand ambassador for the Dove Men+Care range. We’ve kept a sharp eye on this one. I mean, we all love a clean, well groomed guy, but a brand ambassador for a minimal fuss, absolutely-does-the-job product like Dove Men+Care needs to be manly, too, you know? So who […]
After two rounds of 2012 Super Rugby action, who would have guessed that the Blues and Sharks would be winless and that the Highlanders and Chiefs would be heading up the New Zealand conference? That, you see, is the beauty of the Super 15 and as we head into Round Three, there are – once […]
This is pretty impressive. Think about those sporting events that turn out completely different to what you thought they would at the beginning. But then it’s too late – you’ve made your bet. Imagine being able to get an idea of how the Super 15 players are playing on a particular day, before making your […]
It’s as simple as that, gang. I just looked at SA’s hottest sports betting site (here) and they are giving 20 to 1 odds, if Stormers draw first blood with a drop goal against the Sharks on Saturday (SUPER 15). Do you realise how easy it is for that to happen? Shit, I might even […]

Just in case you missed the TV coverage of the Lions vs. Cheetahs game on Saturday, this supporter featured during the coverage. Someone took a photo of him and the photo has been doing the rounds on Twitter. We have been sent it by no less than six different people, so please stop. Here it […]
Ex-Blue Bulls flanker, Phindile Ntshongwana, has been deemed medically fit to stand trial for the alleged murder of three people (two with an axe), attempted murder of another and the kidnapping and rape of a woman. Happy Friday everyone!
The odds suggest that the Crusaders and Reds might have been earmarked by Bet.co.za as pre-season Super Rugby favourites, but they will also be the sides to make money on in Round One of the 2012 tournament. Both the Crusaders and the Reds – finalists in 2011 – will be playing local derbies away from […]
Check it – when we hear of a band doing covers of our favourite party tunes, we want to listen straight away, and we want them to be good… very good. Unfortunately, these are sometimes epic fails, but today we have a serious treat for you. They’re called The Lightyears. Without the intention of sounding […]
This week, South Africa’s trash press are devoting many of those nasty thin pages of theirs to the ongoing marriage breakdown of former-Springbok rugby darling, Joost van der Westhuizen, and his estranged wife, Afrikaans popstrel Amor Vittone. The latest diagnosis? “Sexy lady doctor” Jody Pearl! Oh dear.

One person who won’t be visiting TripAdvisor’s number one world destination this year is controversial Kiwi rugby ref, Bryce Lawrence, who has been left out of any South African matches for this year’s Super 15 fixtures.
The rumours began to do the rounds towards the end of last week, but now a top-level source within the South African Rugby Union has let it slip that Heyneke Meyer will be announced as the new Springbok coach on Friday.
Clearly the father (or “papa” as they like to say in France) of international rugby player, Imanol Harinordoquy had a touch too much pastis during a derby game between Biarritz and Bayonne. Check out the video after the jump.
He might’ve spent a few games on the bench at the 2011 Rugby World Cup, but popular Springbok flyhalf Butch James will be on THE BENCH come this Saturday, as he hits 2oceansVibe Radio HQ from 08h00 to 10h00 to talk about his newly-released book, Butch. The hard-hitting Bok number 10 is South Africa’s most-capped […]

The 2011 edition of the SA Rugby Awards will be held tomorrow night and one of the most hotly contested categories this year is Team of the Year. Among the nominees are newly crowned Currie Cup champions the Golden Lions, and UCT’s highly successful Ikey Tigers. The Stormers’ nomination adds to a strong Western Cape interest factor.
This really isn’t the sort of thing you should go around admitting, even if you were disappointed with a poor refereeing decision. The Welsh coach, Warren Gatland, has publicly admitted that the Welsh coaching staff deliberated faking an injury to one of their props so as to force uncontested scrums during their semi-final clash on Saturday against France.
It Gets Better is a viral video campaign begun in the States in response to a horrific string of teenage suicides last year. Watch this video of Nick Fenton-Wells, the captain of the Ikey Tigers at the University of Cape Town, urging gay players not to be afraid to get involved in sports at UCT.
A hard line taken today by the International Rugby Board could see the All Blacks not competing in the next Rugby World Cup. In response to New Zealand’s warning last week that they would consider pulling out of the 2015 tournament, citing financial losses during this year’s World Cup, the IRB have shrugged and said, “everyone is replaceable”.
