Ag shame. After going through the effort of buying pirated copies of Mandela:Long Walk to Freedom in the backstreets of Joburg, it has now been revealed that the DVDs don’t feature the actual movie.
Before you get a fright, they’re not making a movie sequel – thank god – its just a sequel to the book. His former colleagues are having a little get-together, and are working to complete a book that will pick up where ‘Long Walk to Freedom’ left off.
If you’re the grandson of a Nobel Peace Prize winner and all-round good guy, the world kind of expects you to be at least somewhat good-natured, yourself. This is the latest full length international trailer for ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’. The film chronicles former president Nelson Mandela’s life, from his childhood to the monumental day he was inaugurated as the first legitimate President of South Africa.
Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom premiered on Saturday at the Toronto International Film Festival, and received a 10 minute standing ovation when it was all said and done. Actor Deon Lotz, said it was an honour to be in the movie, adding it was a proudly South African moment.

A shanghai-based artist named Paul Akashi has painted a portrait of Nelson Mandela with 27,000 punches. Akashi printed the Chinese character for freedom on to a boxing glove, and punched it on to the canvass to paint the portrait.
