National Geographic recently compiled an interactive map that allows us to examine what the Earth might look like if we allow all the sea-ice to melt. It is estimated that if said ice does melt, the ocean will rise by a full 66 metres. And anyone who knows how the ocean works will know that 66 metres is a stupendously ridiculous number that will have massive effects on the landscape.
What the hell is an Oarfish? While the term may escape laymen, the Oarfish has been well documented by marine biologists for years.It’s not anything too strange, it’s just strange-lookin’. Although, due to their mysterious beachings after storms,and thier tendency to linger on the surface of the sea when they are dying – they are a common source of sea-serpent tales. It wasn’t a good night for the guests of this Florida resort in the town of Clermont. As they were settling down to go to bed, the earth opened up and swallowed most of the resort and their belongings into a 30m sinkhole. The guests evacuated in terror.

The South African Maritime Safety Authority (Samsa) today released the findings of its investigation into the Miroshga Hout Bay boat accident. In it, they found that an incorrectly wired pump led to the blue and white catamaran taking on too much water, and eventually capsizing.
This morning, we reported on a very tragic accident that happened over the weekend in Hout Bay. A charter boat (The Maroshga) – carrying 39 people – capsised near Duiker Island around 15h00 on Saturday.
In a game of one-upmanship with itself, nature was apparently unsatisfied with the destructive force of an ordinary tornado so it decided to up the ante and add some fire, the result: a “fire devil”.
