Kung Fury is a visually spectacular action comedy that has it’s foundation in 80s cop movies. In the movie, Kung Fury travels back in time from the 80s to kill Hitler. Best plot ever, right? But because popular cinema is all about movies we would rather not talk about *coughFrozencough*, David Sandberg (the movie’s director and star) has taken to Kickstarter to help him raise the $1,000,000 he needs to make the film.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is an adventure-slash-comedy directed by and starring Ben Stiller. Set to Billy Joel’s We Didn’t Start the Fire’, this awesome parody throws in all the messy, cringe worthy and just plain ridiculous celeb scandals that clogged up newswaves this year. Comedian Owen Weber produces slam dunk after slam dunk as he rapidly belts out already silly headlines with his own unique twist.
Not only is Stiller directing this remake, he’s also managed to lure Kirstin Wig, Adam Scott and the stellar Sean Penn (his breakout film was a comedy) onto the cast list. The trailer itself is perhaps one of the best this year, with breathtaking cinematography, cutscenes that illustrate Walter Mitty’s beautiful but very delusional imagination, and a soundtrack that no one can argue with.
Danish film director Lars Von Trier has a hard time compromising his vision, so it comes as no surprise that Von Trier’s most recent endeavour ‘Nymphomaniac’ is five hours long. The movie follows a sex addict named Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg) throughout eight chapters, vividly detailing her sexual journey using porn stars as body doubles for scenes of unstimulated sex. Selected press got their hands on an abridged and censored four hour version, and although it’s too early to say, it seems to be faring well, with The Telegraph’s Tim Robey giving it four out of five stars.
Will they be releasing an extended edition of The Hobbit trilogy? It seems as though that’s already happening. If anything, there will be a special director’s cut, which will probably get a cinema release, drawing all of the films together in the space of three-and-a-half hours. If not, there will undoubtedly be a fan-made version […]

Escape Plan is the culmination of a big idea that has been simmering, along with their testosterone levels, for a couple of decades. The release date for Anchorman 2 is drawing ever nearer, and it is in that spirit of anticipation that you should cast your minds back to the production of the first movie, and consider how amazing it must have been to cast these characters. Take Brick, for example. Love you, Steve Carrell. [Source : YouTube]
Ender’s Game is based on Orson Scott Card’s classic science fiction novel. South African writer-director, Gavin Hood, best known for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Rendition and Tsotsi, was entrusted with bringing the book to life and for the most part, he’s succeeded. It’s not an entirely faithful adaptation with a number of casting and story compromises […]
A machine called ‘Collosus’ was the first real computer. Designed to help codebreakers in WWII, it was one huge motherclunker. And it didn’t even have ‘snake’.
This six minute animated film was created by six students from The Animation School in Cape Town. Within 24 hours of it appearing on Vimeo, it had garnered 90,000 views. That’s a big deal.
YES PLEASE. The marketing campaign behind ‘Anchorman 2’ is turning out to be a bit of a humdinger. This time, it has led Ron Burgundy himself to appear live on KXMB-TV, a local news broadcast from Bismarck, North Dakota.
This gallery of photos makes important steps towards providing a pictorial definition of the word “obsessive”.
The much-anticipated sequel to the original ‘Anchorman’ movie is well on its way, with the premiere expected to be announced in December sometime.

The Hunger Games underplayed its hand. While competent and carried by a strong performance from Jennifer Lawrence, Gary Ross seemed like the wrong director for the film. Getting the Seabiscuit and Pleasantville director on-board must have been a ploy to cushion the adult themes to appeal to a much broader audience. While marketed as a […]
