A photograph of Whitney Houston lying in her casket before her funeral has appeared on the cover of National Enquirer. It was apparently taken by a relative on a cell phone. Needless to say the publication has been condemned by Houston fans, the world over. If you would prefer not to see it, then don’t click ;continue reading’ below.

You’ve got to give it to celebrity train smash, Lindsay Lohan – she certainly knows how to turn a bad situation around. She’s only gone and nabbed the role that nobody thought she’d get, playing Liz Taylor in an upcoming biopic. There is, however, one condition.

A couple of months ago, the guys from Jax Panik and iScream & the Chocolate Stix asked you to help write them some new lyrics. As America lays their fallen songbird to rest, let’s take a look at five aspects of Whitney Houston’s life that never really hit the headlines.
Ninja says Americans have taken to the South African zef rappers like ducks to water. He has also said “God made a mistake with me,” and that he is “actually black, trapped in a white body.” Ninja understands that culture traverses colour, and many other things.
Chris Brown’s success at the Grammys – he won an award for the Best R&B album, and performed to a standing ovation – has been mildly overshadowed by people getting upset over his beating up Rihanna. So, like all mature and repentant individuals, he turned to his Twitter account to set things right.
Hoo-ha. That teaser trailer for the new Die Antwoord album, Ten$ion, got pulled from the internet (which means they’ve officially taken it down – obviously it’s still around) because artist Jane Alexander, whose anti-apartheid sculpture the trailer strongly references, told them to. They’re in legal discussions presently.
The Colombian pop singer and woman with the hips that don’t lie, Shakira, appears to have narrowly escaped the menacing attack of a Cape Fur Seal on the weekend. She’s been in Cape Town on holiday, and escaped with some minor cuts and bruises while attempting to take photographs of seals.
Well hey there, internet – look what you brought in. “Money and Da Power,” a track that Die Antwoord has performed a couple of times on live tour but didn’t include on TEN$ION has been leaked onto Soundcloud by some or other file-sharing hippie. It’s a neat song, though. They sample sound from The Godfather.
Nice one, Apple. An astute fan has noticed that after the passing of Whitney Houston on Saturday, her albums on iTunes no longer bear the pre-mortum price tag. Whilst a clever business move, it’s a little dickish, Apple. – UPDATE: It has since been reported that Sony, not Apple, is responsible for the hike in prices.

Obama seems to be going with the “sing when you’re winning” line of thought – first his rendition of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together”, and now his 28-track long Campaign playlist has shown up on Spotify, to remind voters that he’s totally hip to the groove. Take a look to compare your tastes with the POTUS.
Here’s a surprising notion – Liv Tyler has recorded a cover of one of INXS’ hits, Need You Tonight. She did it for a new fragrance made by luxury goods company, Givenchy (pronounce “give-orn-chee” for effect). I would like to take this moment just to say that INXS is one of the greatest bands ever. […]
Sure, Marvel dropped their ‘Avengers’ trailer during the super bowl too, but if there’s one thing Marvel likes it’s making money, and nothing makes money like overstimulated comic book movie fans. And this trailer for Marc Webb’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man,’ starring Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone, is very, very stimulating.
A series of photos taken of a 24 year-old Marilyn Monroe before she became famous have surfaced after 50 years. They were recently found lying forgotten in an archive drawer of LIFE magazine. You may never have heard of TV celebrity and author Zanele Mbokazi. It would mean you’ve never watched SABC1’s Gospel Gold show, for which she used to be presenter, but anything’s possible. However all of that is beside the point. Because Zanele is now even more famous for something else: helping to bust some very naughty SAPS officers on Sunday.

There is simply no stopping Die Antwoord. After dropping a new video and introducing their daughter to the world, they can now also tick appearing on David Letterman AND modeling for Alexander Wang off their bucket list.
OK Go did a song about the primary colours on Sesame Street. No other band would make me care about this, but OK Go are sort of the kings of viral videos. So click through for some stop-motion, a new track, and primary-coloured theme outfits. No spandex this time, though.
The delightful little girl with the snake around her neck in the latest music video by Die Antwoord is actually their real-life daughter. Were you aware that Steve-O was tapping George Clooney’s ex, Elisabetta Canalis? I certainly wasn’t. Wowsers – he’s punching WAY above his weight! Some evidence of that statement can be seen here, here, here and here (chips). I found that pic in The Daily and further investigating online led me to this fresh information: She […]
