The Lollapalooza music festival took place in Chicago over the weekend. And like pretty much every other major music festival around the globe recently, Die Antwoord played there. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly they explained why they don’t prefer to do gigs in South Africa. As it turns out, Ninja & Yolandi does not seem to care much for South Africans in general. According to the notorious two, South Africa is “pretty fucking retarded” and the majority of its citizens are “insecure”. Also, performing to South Africans is “like doing magic tricks for retarded children.”
Die Antwoord is back with the second music video from TEN$ION. “Baby’s on Fire” sees Ninja and Yolandi Vi$$er playing brother and sister having lunch with their parents. It seems Yolandi has a new boyfriend, but her brother is not too happy about it. Check it out after the jump!
It seems not even the current Queen of Pop can entice South African zefsters Die Antwoord to drop their awesome ‘tude. Here’s their response to her invitation to open for her upcoming world tour, as relayed to MTV Canada! Obviously, the video is gloriously N5FW:

Ninja says Americans have taken to the South African zef rappers like ducks to water. He has also said “God made a mistake with me,” and that he is “actually black, trapped in a white body.” Ninja understands that culture traverses colour, and many other things.
Well hey there, internet – look what you brought in. “Money and Da Power,” a track that Die Antwoord has performed a couple of times on live tour but didn’t include on TEN$ION has been leaked onto Soundcloud by some or other file-sharing hippie. It’s a neat song, though. They sample sound from The Godfather.
So! Die Antwoord’s new album, TEN$ION, is coming out tomorrow – the first release on their new, Interscope-free, indie label, ZEF Records. Which is cool. Even cooler is the fact that it’s available for free streaming on Dutch broadcasting channel 3VOOR12, in case you’re somebody who likes free stuff. Listen here.

There is simply no stopping Die Antwoord. After dropping a new video and introducing their daughter to the world, they can now also tick appearing on David Letterman AND modeling for Alexander Wang off their bucket list.
The delightful little girl with the snake around her neck in the latest music video by Die Antwoord is actually their real-life daughter. Her name is Sixteen (for real) and she also appears on the latest cover of Rolling Stone SA along with her parents. See this heartwarming family portrait, along with another one of them taken several years ago, after the jump.

Die Antwoord will drop their second album on 7 February. Called “TEN$ION”, the LP will be released on their own label, ZEF REKORDZ. The cover has been revealed and features an angel-winged, demonic-faced Yolandi Vi$$er eating what appears to be a human heart. See this graphic image after the jump.
