But we can now reveal that one of 5FM’s top-rated DJ’s has handed himself over to the police, following three criminal charges that have been laid against him by Matheba.

6,5 Million LinkedIn Passwords Leaked – Now Is A Good Time To Change Yours

LinkedIn has confirmed via its blog that more than 6,5 Million user passwords had been “compromised”. That is a nice way of saying a Russian hacker stole, and then downloaded them. If you have an account with LinkedIn, now would be a great time to change your password.

South Africa’s elite police unit, the Hawks, have opened an investigation into allegations of corruption at MTN. This follows news reports yesterday of a senior former MTN Group executive admitting to bribing South Africa’s former ambassador to Iran following a successful license purchase.

R40 Million Worth Of Rhino Horn Seized In Huge Sting

More than R40 million worth of rhino horn, as well as elephant tusks and leopard skins were seized in two operations in Gauteng last week. Both operations are linked to a 40-year-old KwaZulu-Natal man, who was arrested, along with six foreigners, during the operations.

Columbian Coke Kingpin Arrested

Now, I’m not saying that this story is in anyway related to Mark Keohane’s resignation, but these things happen. Reuters reports that Diego Perez Henao, the leader of the “Los Rastrojos” gang in Columbia, was arrested on Sunday morning near the Venezuelan-Colombian border. A mother caused chaos yesterday when she called the 1Time call centre to tell them there was a bomb on one of their aircrafts. The valiant woman didn’t want her daughter to board a flight from Jozi to George, but alas, it was too late, and the aircraft was already in the air by the time the threat was received.

Charles Taylor Sentenced To 50 Years For War Crimes

The 64-year-old warlord-turned-president is the first former head of state to be convicted by an international war crimes court since the Second World War. He was found guilty last month of 11 counts of aiding and abetting war crimes, and crimes against humanity by supporting rebels between 1996 and 2002 in return for conflict diamonds.

Bheki Cele Asks President Jacob Zuma For His Job Back

Police commissioner Bheki Cele is currently suspended. It is also recommended that he be fired and that a criminal investigation be launched into his involvement regarding the irregular awarding of police headquarter leases worth R1,7bn. But Cele has now allegedly written to President Jacob Zuma, asking to be reinstated. As easy as that.

Oh hey, that V-for-Vendetta-themed hacker collective is back, this time with a 1,7 GB lump of data that they claim “used to belong to the United States Bureau of Justice Statistics.” The file was uploaded to the Pirate Bay yesterday, and allegedly contains “internal emails, and the entire database dump.”

So there was a NATO summit ongoing in Chicago over the weekend – which naturally attracts a couple of protest groups, members from the “Occupy” movement among them. It also attracted police and Homeland Security, who proceeded to handcuff protesters, detain them at gunpoint, and ram into a crowd of them with a van.

Yesterday, news reports surfaced about a schoolboy who was allegedly sexually assaulted with a broom and a banana. The incident took place during an Edgemead High School rugby tour. Even though authorities have opted not to prosecute anyone, Childline is campaigning for legal steps to be taken against the school and the coach who was charge when the alleged events took place.

A short while ago, Jessica Leandra dos Santos and Tshidi Thamana seemed to try to apologise for their recent actions, as well as form some kind of friendship. But Itumeleng Mabeba, a man at the centre of hate speech allegations for sending a very disturbing tweet, has claimed his Twitter account was hacked. His employer is also instituting an internal disciplinary process against him.

We had been wondering what might have been stolen from advocate Muzi Sikhakhane’s home in Northcliff, Jozi, last month. Sikhakhane is acting in a matter against controversial police crime intelligence boss, Lieutenant-General Richard Mdluli. Turns out, one of the documents stolen was an affidavit penned by Tokyo Sexwale, which accused Mdluli of abusing state resources.

One Of President Zuma’s Many Sons Sued For R1,5 Million Wedding Debt

One of President Jacob Zuma’s many sons, Edward, is being sued for R1,5 million by Functions for Africa CC. The company says Edward still owes them the shortfall from his lavish wedding that cost R2,5 million at Tala Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal last year.
