Driver Jailed For Attempting To Mow Pedestrians Down With Car [VIDEO]

A driver in the UK has been jailed after trying to run a group of pedestrians over “like skittles.” The group of people had apparently “been mocking him” as he drew up at a junction. So he did what any sane person would do in such a situation by turning his car into an 80km/h motorised battering ram. Video after the jump.

Mercedes Drives Face-First Into Johannesburg Highway [PICS]

Yesterday a Mercedes was driven face-first into Johannesburg’s Malibongwe Drive. The driver also managed to take a BMW from a nearby dealership down the embankment with her! In a radio interview she said that while visiting the dealership to trade in her car, her “high heel got stuck while in reverse”. The disastrous result can be seen after the jump.

Well this is new, and sort of neat. For the new V40, Volvo is introducing the world’s first pedestrian airbag system, designed to reduce the severity of pedestrian injuries in a car-pedestrian collision. Alternatively it could double as a sweet new inflatable mattress on the hood of your car.

Yesterday, OK Go released their new music video for Needing/Getting, which doubled as a Super Bowl ad for the Chevy Sonic. The band drives a Chevy fitted with retractable arms down a 3km stretch of desert lined with 1 000 instruments to perform a version of “Needing/Getting” that took four months to prep and four days to shoot.

Saab Automobile has spent the last two years fighting to salvage the iconic brand that manufactured cars for six decades, but today announced that it had filed for bankruptcy in a Swedish district court. General Motors, who still had control over technology licenses, had disapproved of negotiations with two Chinese firms that sought to save Saab.
