OK Go’s Insane Chevy Music Vid [VIDEO]

Yesterday, OK Go released their new music video for Needing/Getting, which doubled as a Super Bowl ad for the Chevy Sonic. The band drives a Chevy fitted with retractable arms down a 3km stretch of desert lined with 1 000 instruments to perform a version of “Needing/Getting” that took four months to prep and four days to shoot.

We Live In The Future Now: 83-Year-Old Woman Fitted With 3D-Printed Jaw

An 83-year-old woman has successfully had her lower jaw replaced with a 3D-printed model by scientists at Belgium’s University of Hasselt. This is the first such implant in the world, and was a much faster process than traditional artificial implants – we’re taking hours instead of days.

Looks like the iPhone is going to have to update its default lock-screen. A new 64-megapixel, high-definition version of the “Blue Marble” has been taken from the newest Earth observation satellite, Suomi NPP, 824 kilometres above the earth. It’s a stunning photo of the planet, built out of several composite “swaths.”

So! The shutdown MegaUpload and charging of founders with piracy ostensibly started with a copyright scuffle between the filesharing site and the Universal Music Group. Except the shut-down was also timed to scupper MegaBox, a venture to sell artist’s work directly to consumers while letting artists keep 90 percent of earnings. Raised eyebrows all around.

Hacker group, Anonymous, evidently not content with taking down three major corporations and the US Department of Justice’s websites, are continuing their MegaUpload revenge spree, having gained access to CBS.com and deleting every file on the server, while keeping Universal Music inoperative with sustained denial-of-service attacks.

German Court Rejects Samsung’s 3G Patent Lawsuit Against Apple

Man, Samsung, you guys have been losing pretty much everything against Apple in the past couple of weeks. Germany’s Mannheim Regional court reached a decision on one point of the continuing lawsuit between Apple and Samsung, rejecting the claim that Apple have infringed upon Samsung’s German 3G patents.
