When it comes to the food industry, one must always be on the lookout for exciting, new trends. As you know, Ass-Flavoured Products are very “in” right now and it therefore makes perfect sense for the Caltex garage at the Waterfront to launch a titillating new range of Pieman’s ass flavoured pies.
2 December sees the South African release of Real Steel, featuring Hugh Jackman. It is about boxing, but instead of humans we are talking robots in the fighting ring! We can bring you the very first South African look at images from this “gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future.” You are welcome.
My friend Lara is a vet in training and spent most of this month putting her hands in animals. Whilst out fiddling with animals in the Kruger Park, she noticed that even the parksboard is trying to cash in by introducing various ass-flavoured products.
Nudity does not suit model Candice Boucher’s image in South Africa. No-one in SA will ever see Candice strip off, capisce? (Apart from the thousands of South Africans who saw this nude photo shoot online when she was US Playboy’s April cover girl last year, I suppose).
Tokyo Sexwale made it fairly clear yesterday that the Julius Malema notion of land redistribution is not what he has in mind for South Africa, as Human Settlements Minister. Oh, and he also called Julius a loud-mouth.
We all have our lapses of judgment. But some of us make such horrendously poor decisions that one simply has to ask, “What were they on?”. Every week we bring you three contenders in what can only be described as a battle of small wits. So, with great pleasure we present this week’s three La […]
Are you a man (or a woman) who is able to turn menial, everyday tasks into a spectacular event? Then you most certainly have a place in our hearts here at 2oceansVibe. Our latest hero is a guy who makes chapatti (also known as roti) like a boss. Check out his mad skills inside.
BBC News Magazine recently ran a feature on American words and turns of phrase which have entered into language in the UK. This prompted hundreds of responses from people who gave further examples and naturally complained about most of them. Some, in true British style, were truly scathing and really rather entertaining.
Local cyclists concerned about how some people treat them on the road, should take note of a new initiative launched overseas. The ‘Give Respect, Get Respect’ campaign in Philadelphia, is aimed at socially unacceptable behaviour – something we have been quite vocal about here at 2oceansvibe. The Give Respect, Get Respect campaign aimed at promoting […]
The world of ridiculous internet trends is a highly competitive one. There’s photo bombing, fail videos, planking, and most recently owling – all highly popular in their day, but now quickly becoming old news. I’m told the current meme flavour is called “leisure diving”, and involves jumping into a body of water whilst striking a “leisure pose” in mid-air. Examples inside.

When he’s not letting us know that he’ll be on holiday, President Jacob Zuma harnesses the power of the presidential twitter feed to promote the dramatic accomplishments of his progeny. Sweet, man. Check out the tweet after the jump.
Two recent medical studies claim that antiretroviral medications could help protect healthy people from contracting the HIV virus through sexual contact. How? Just drink an antiretroviral daily! The findings claim that this could greatly cut a person’s infection risk by as much as 73%. If this is true, then humanity could be looking at a potential game-changer in the fight against AIDS.
Next time you’re on the beach (and frankly, given the current weather in Cape Town, that may be later today), bear in mind that there’s more to the scenery than meets the eye. Sand is ba-yoodiful, too – beyond what our human eyes can perceive. Have a look at these shots of tiny grains of sand magnified to 250 times their real size.
Lesley-Ann Brandt is an ex Cape Town girl, and a busy one at that! So far she’s had roles in TV shows such as “Legend of the Seeker”, “Chuck”, Spartacus: Blood & Sand, CSI: NY. But this beautiful lady is about to take her biggest step forward yet: a leading role in an upcoming Hollywood movie. In it, she’ll star alongside Sam Worthington from “Avatar”.
In 1951, Sean Connery, at age 21, posed for an art class at the Edinburgh College of Art. There, a student, Robert Webster painted him wearing only a g-string and coyly looking over his left shoulder. Sexy art but still art nonetheless! Webster, being a real bro however, never showed these to pieces the public. But he passed away last month and his family feels differently about the situation.
“Ti amiamo, Armani” means (roughly): “We love you Armani, and your timeless style – and we need you to design our tracksuits for London 2012”. That’s what Italy’s Olympic Committee has arranged for the Azzurri for the Summer Olympics next year.
“Food Not Bombs” in Orlando, Florida, has been distributing free meals to homeless people for the past 30 years. A ridiculous new law now prohibits food distribution to the homeless without a permit – resulting in the arrest of 25 volunteers. Check out this guy, employing severe sarcasm tactics in order to respond to the police and their “we are only doing our job” reasoning.
We are very pleased to see people catching on to the notion of work-free Fridays, and today’s entries have been no exception. Interestingly, this week ladies are taking the lead in embracing the art of Friday relaxation. A noteworthy mention goes to @em_skye, who is heading up the West Coast for the weekend, looking very […]
I think a lot of us forget that homeless people are actual people with talents just like the rest of us – sometimes it’s just hidden under some rags and dirt. Take this urban camper for instance: if you were to walk past him, chances are you would not even notice him. But click on this video and you’ll hear something you won’t soon forget.

“My nipples were so cold they started talking to me.” I don’t know where to begin. There is simply too much awesome in these videos for me to add anything else. That would spoil it. Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to make your day, nay, your weekend, by checking out Jean-Claude Van Damme in these beer commercials for Coors Light.
This morning Kylie Minogue got down with the Soweto gospel choir, who welcomed her on her arrival in Johannesburg a few hours ago. She tweeted this rather festive picture of herself dancing with the singers, obviously having a great time. Wonder who’ll greet her at CT International next week. The possibilities are endless.
You know how sometimes football players take off their shirts after the game and swop them with other players or fans? That happens at the FIFA Woman’s World Cup too. The only difference is that when it happens there, former pin-up models, like Josefine Öqvist, are the ones stripping down…
You know how this one goes, right? There is a house in Orange Grove. They call it The Radium… The Radium is reputedly the oldest surviving beer hall and grill in Johannesburg, and unlike places like The Brazen Head, it genuinely has that aged feel. The chairs and tables creak ominously under the weight of the patrons and the food. The pavement outside is littered with ash and the odd beggar. The only things they seem to have added in the last 20 years are a stainless steel urinal and the big TVs. It is exactly my type of place to hang out.
A Sikh man enters a pub. The owner says, “Take off your hat”. “It’s a turban,” the patron replies. “No headwear, mate,” says the proprietor, tapping his little sign. That’s kind of what happened on Sunday at a Brisbane hotel.
We all have our lapses of judgment. But some of us make such horrendously poor decisions that one simply has to ask, “What were they on?”. Every week we bring you three contenders in what can only be described as a battle of small wits. So, with great pleasure we present this week’s three La Fee Absinthe-Minded Moment of the Week finalists. Inside we have L’Express Magazine, Newsweek, and Vodacom. But who claims the prize for the most mindbogglingly foolish tomfoolery of the week? Click through to find out!
The girl pictured is actually a robot named Showa Hanako 2. She was originally developed as a tool for dentists looking to practice new procedures, but is now able to recognise voice commands, turn her head and open her mouth real wide! Before your mind ends up in the gutter, see the video as to why she’s designed like that.
Vodacom has assured the thousands of us who experienced the total non-existence of phone signal for hours yesterday, that it had nothing to do with RICA. That puts the mind at ease, doesn’t it? Now, if only everyone had also registered to meet that pesky RICA deadline by midnight, we’d all be laughing.
8 bit Invader (maping) from Darkfejzr on Vimeo.
A projection mapping by the Czech designer Pavel Novák turns the façade of a university building into a mash-up of 80’s video games – running the gamut from Pac-Man to Space Invaders. It’s called 8-bit Invader. The initial screening was for the 5th anniversary of Tomas Bata University’s department of visual arts in Zlín, Czech Republic.
