Fatal Shark Attack: City Of Cape Town Releases Official Report And Review

The City of Cape Town has released its official report on the fatal shark attack that claimed the life of bodyboarder, David Lilienfeld, 20, on Thursday at Kogel Bay, “Caves”, near Gordons Bay. In it, the City concluded that the tagging of False Bay sharks for a documentary could not be directly linked to the attack.

A bodyboarder has suffered fatal injuries at popular surfing spot, Koeël Bay, near Gordons Bay, earlier today. Due to the nature of the location, medical air rescue services were still on their way to the scene, but members of the bodyboarding community were expressing their shock at the loss of the individual across social networks.

“Men At Work” Member Found Dead In Melbourne

If you don’t know who Men at Work are, I suggest you go and sit in the corner and slap yourself around a bit. They were around in the 80’s and produced some great hits like “Who can it be now?”, “Overkill” and the legendary “Down Under”. One of their members, Greg Ham, has just been found dead in Melbourne.

Pit Bull Mauls Durban Pensioner To Death

65-year-old Allan Lorton, of Knight Road, Sherwood in Durban, died of his wounds on Tuesday after being viciously mauled in an attack by his neighbours’ pit bull. Neighbours and bystanders could only watch in horror as the pensioner bled profusely during the attack.

Apple Posts Online Steve Jobs Memorial

When Apple released the statement announcing Steve Jobs’ death, it also set up a public email address, rememberingsteve@apple.com, where people could vent their memories and thoughts about Jobs. These have all been uploaded to Apple.com’s “Remembering Steve” page, a crowdsourced memorial to the company’s founder.

Kenya’s Wangari Maathai has died while undergoing cancer treatment in Nairobi at the age of 71. An activist for conservation, transformation and women’s rights, she was the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

In what must have seemed like a scene straight from a movie, hundreds of Orthodox Greek mourners were mistakenly served kourabiedes, a traditional Greek biscuit, at a funeral reception. Shortly after tasting the biscuits, the guests started acting incredibly strangely and the funeral bureau officers called the police.

The Kenyan Olympic marathon champion, Samuel Wanjiru, was killed when he jumped off the balcony of his home late on Sunday, police have said this morning. Wanjiru appeared to have suffered internal injuries after the fall and was confirmed dead by doctors at a nearby hospital.

Football legend Eddie Lewis has passed away in a Johannesburg hospital at age 76 after a battle with cancer. Lewis will be famously remembered for his many contributions to the sport around the world but none more so than his feat of coaching two major clubs at the same time – Kaizer Chiefs and Wits University.

RIP Photojournalist Tim Hetherington

British filmmaker and photojournalist, Tim Hetherington, who co-directed the Oscar-nominated documentary on the Afghanistan War, Restrepo, was killed yesterday in Misrata, Libya, following the firing of an RPG at a group of journalists. He was 41 years old. Three other journalists were injured in the attack.

Elizabeth Taylor, one of the iconic film actresses of the 2oth century, has passed away in her California home at the age of 79. Taylor is survived by her four children (who were at her bedside in the moments prior to her death), 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
