Tomorrow, SA Maritime Safety Authorities will make another attempt to remove the stranded Eihatsu Maru from Clifton’s First beach. Last night, 2oceansVibe spoke to one of the men in charge, Samsa’s chief operations officer, Sobantu Tilayi. Many questions still remain about the reasons why the captain grounded the vessel, but Tilayi said the operation has now reached a critical stage.
You should by now be aware that the US has gone nuts for swimsuit model Kate Upton. Seriously – she’s closing in on Candice. So anyway, she made this video with photographer/revolting pervert Terry Richardson of her doing the “Cat Daddy” dance (?) and popped it on YouTube. It didn’t last long before it was […]
Shame, Candice Swanepoel took a break last week from shooting for Victoria’s Secret, by parading around the Caribbean in a very appropriate bikini. Incredible visuals allow us further insight into SA’s very own Number 1 Supermodel In The World. Check it out:

One of the positive things to emerge from the Kony 2012 saga was the fact that discussion around some of Africa’s many problems increased. One could say that more people know about some of the things we deal with, than before Kony 2012. Charity organisation, Mama Hope, has since released a response video, seeking to break what it calls stereotypes of black African men.
Jack Parow has just dropped the first music video from his second studio album. “Hard Partytjie Hou” also features Fokofpolisiekar and Van Coke Kartel frontman, Francois van Coke. Best line? “As jy van die liedjie hou, p**s vir Nicholis Louw!” See full, uncensored video inside.
If you’ve been following the Kony 2012 movement, you’d remember they called for an April 20 world wide canvassing campaign. “Cover the Night” also hit Cape Town over the weekend and saw activists put up their share of posters around town. See all the “excitement” after the jump.
Just after midday on Saturday, at Camps Bay, hundreds of surfers paddled out into the bay to celebrate the life of David Lilienfeld. He passed away last week after being bitten by a shark at Koegel bay. Sea Rescue boats from Bakoven and Table Bay were also there on behalf of the NSRI. See a full gallery of the very moving event after the jump.
Yesterday bodyboarder David Lilienfeld suffered fatal injuries after being attacked by a shark near Cape Town. On the same day, several international websites also happened to run a feature on Andre Hartman, South Africa’s “Shark Whisperer”. Pictures of Hartman placing his hand on the snout of a great white shark and “putting it in a trance” were the main focus. See them inside.
South Africans have reacted with shock and disbelief over the tragic passing of bodyboarder David Lilienfeld earlier today. He suffered fatal injuries at popular surfing spot, Koeël Bay, near Gordons Bay. A 2oceansViber alerted us to a recent video, featuring David and some of his friends. Watch it inside.
Only a few hours have passed since Camps Bay bodyboarder, David Lilienfeld was fatally attacked by a Great White shark in Koeelbaai, near Cape Town. Less than two days ago, 2oceansvibe Reported the controversy around the awarding of filming permits to documentary film makers, who were chumming the water off the Cape Coast in a bid to attract Great Whites for tagging and filming purposes. At the time, Alan Boyd of the Department of Environmental Affairs defended the permits. Moments ago, in the wake of the tragedy, Boyd cancelled them.

It’s that time of the year again – the Easter silly season, when people risk their lives driving like lunatics on our national roads. To counter the madness, the Western Cape government has announced it will be setting up roadblocks where you and I least expect them, as part of a grand plan which aims to see zero road deaths in the province over the Easter period.
I was all set to hate the Colin-Farrell-starring remake of 1990’s Total Recall (which had Arnold Schwarzenegger portray an amnesiac freedom fighter from Mars) – but it actually looks pretty rad! Flying cars, memory implants, and Jessica Biel are all things that make good movies good. Take a look.
A Cape Town man was apparently raped by a man dressed as a woman on Wednesday in Observatory. He was sexually assaulted after the “woman” forced him into a dark alleyway. “She” was wearing a wig, black miniskirt, and wielded a knife. The 26 year-old victim has since had to receive counseling after his traumatic experience.

Candice Swanepoel is in the latest issue of GQ Magazine (UK) as she explodes onto every page like some kind of celestial supermodel from another dimension. She also discusses the nasty cows at her school that used to tease her. But Candice was watching FTV every day and she thought, “screw them, because I’m going […]
6’1′ bombshell, Jenna Talackova of Vancouver was disqualified from the Donald Trump-owned Miss Universe Canada beauty pageant for “not meeting the requirements to compete despite having stated otherwise on her entry form,” according to competition officials. Here’s some great news for the swimmers amongst you. The City of Cape Town is about to launch a first-of-its-kind initiative to clean up the water running into three popular bathing areas. The project aims to improve the quality of storm water at two outlet sites in Three Anchor Bay and another at Rocklands, between Sea Point and Mouille Point.
While South Africans took the day off yesterday to reflect on Human Rights Day, the small community of Hangberg near Hout Bay was rocked by violent protests as residents took to the streets to lash out against a police taskforce that raided local homes looking for abalone poachers.

The Department of Health has released the results of a study completed earlier this year that paints a grim picture of both Cape Town and the Western Cape’s rampant use and abuse of alcohol. Long story short, the study concludes that Cape Town is South Africa’s drunkest city, and the Western Cape its booziest province. Er, yay?
Meet Erin Heatherton. She seems pretty cool. Although she might not be the one for Leonardo DiCaprio. This is an important story for guys and girls. Guys will see that it’s not all about looks. And girls will learn that Leonardo is referring to psychopaths – of which there are many. According to a recent report: Actor […]
