Old habits die hard, although over the years Pamela Anderson has changed from flashing skin on home-made videos to raising awareness for animal rights group PETA.
People can really be silly sometimes. And sometimes we really get a kick (no pun intended) out of doing stupid things. Often we’re caught up in the moment, and can only look back on what we’ve done and shake our heads.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) actions are far outweighing their organizations name. In the last 11 years, aprroximately seven animals are killed daily. While an on site inspection revealed that of 254 animals received, 90% were euthanized within 24 hours of receiving them. And they call themselves an animal shelter.
In a rather feeble attempt to garner attention for the plight of abused animals everywhere, PETA has launched an adult content site peta.xxx [NSFW, sort of]. The site has been in the pipeline for a while now, and features porn stars like Ron Jeremy and Jenna Jameson. Although, to be honest, there is harder porn on late night E-tv.
With the sad news that this season will be the last of the popular medical drama, House, it’s good to know that the cast members are at least moving on with their lives, and adding their voices to the many causes out there. This includes posing for PETA, which a female cast member has done. Can you guess who?
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA as they are better known, is a crazy bunch. They’re a bunch of militant vegetarians, and at one point even went so far as to rename tuna to “sea kittens”, in an attempt to make the canned fish seem more cuddly and cute. This is a little embarrassing.
PETA recently took up a lawsuit against SeaWorld on behalf of five killer whales. The animal rights campaigners even went so far as to compare the condition of these orcas to human slavery. The Daily Show responded by sending a black guy to interview someone at PETA. After watching this, pack up and go home, because this is the best thing you’ll see all day.
Yesterday PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) launched their new viral campaign to encourage people to “go vegan”. Unfortunately for them, what they apparently intended as a tongue-in-cheek ad has sparked outrage and concern by painting a sad picture of domestic abuse and violence.
The website will be full XXX, but here’s the twist, the porn will be coupled with graphic images of mistreated animals. With previous campaigns seeing the likes of Ron Jeremy and Jenna Jameson, this isn’t exactly shocking. Just weird. Now I can think of a few other words to make with the P, the T and the A.
I know we did this last week, but this is unfortunately the reality of the hour that one officially applies the Cape Town Friday Rule. It’s called habit, and there’s no better way to form a habit other than through repetition. Essentially you should now start embracing everything non work-like, so let’s celebrate with a naked shower protest.
The Super Bowl is coming up on Sunday and apparently the always tasteful PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals) has offered NBC flippin’ great wadges of cash to air an ad filled with women fellating vegetables.[NSFW]
Most of you will no doubt be familiar with PETA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. As their name suggests, they are an animal rights organisation, with branches the world over. They also have a branch in South Africa, and this afternoon they’ll be skirmishing with Brian Boswell’s Circus in Fourways. Beautiful.
It’s no secret that I am a petanque (or “boules”) champion in the Provencial town of Menerbes – extending perhaps as far as Lacoste and, dare I say, Avignon.
