It’s been a crazy last few weeks that saw Tiger back in the rough after a porn star released some pretty raunchy text messages, Ernie wine win again and Warnie release an underwear line.

What a genius initiative by Warnie to release his new range of ‘Spinners’ jocks and socks. Blokes already have no idea when it comes to buying this sort of thing, but now thanks to the latest fashionista, Warnie, a pair of ‘Spinners’ is an option. He’s not the first, though. Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson and Michael Clarke have all tried their hands when it comes to underwear lines. Unfortunately for us, these are all only available down under on Alcatraz. Why our boys are so slow on the uptake is beyond me.

I can see the sale already, Baywatch’s boardies, Biffy’s boxers or Ernie’s ergonomic arch-supporting socks. With all that on your local shelf why would you buy anything else? Next up would be Naas releasing some Naas’ Nylons!? I can think of 51 762 Loftus fans who’d slap a pair of these on their pins to the Bulls Canes matchup this weekend. Cha-ching! Naas would be laughing all the way to the bank. You’d imagine an ‘on da udder hand Darren’ glove range might follow. The options are endless.

Warnie refused to model his own line at the big launch, citing overindulgence as a factor. If only he’d known abs are out and Bermuda shorts and beer bellies are in. Well that’s according to Chezza Cole. And if she’s saying it, it MUST be golden. Since her Ashley took a page out’ve Tiger’s textual handbook, she claims a guy could be in a speedo and ripped to within an inch of his life, and she wouldn’t bat one of those butterflies she has for eyelids. This bodes well for the guy that sits on the halfway line at Loftus. Supersport always film him during injury breaks? He gets a lot of airtime.

Speaking of which, why on earth does Supersport persist with the Woolies release of the same style Clarke Kent farm checkered shirt every year?

Anyway, whether this is the year for the pot belly, or for Tiger Woods, remains to be seen. Regardless, I think it should be the year of the endorsement. I really hope our sportsman can go beyond a bottle of red wine or a Toyota Hilux. Maybe let’s start small. Rugby Saturday two-for-one Schalk Burgers at Steers?
