A speckly green creature, about the size of your thumb, it is a strong swimmer and needs swift flowing mountain streams for survival. Stagnant pools and deforestation are its demise. So, on much of its original habitat man has altered the course, confining these frogs to an almost inaccessible eerie gorge where it relies on natural camouflage and a flat profile to hide in crevaces and caves.

It is nocturnal and cannot survive in captivity. Is this little frog’s life worth a kiss? We think so, and we hope you do too.
