The Unogwaja Challenge – Where Are The Men Now?

Last week you might have caught the interview on 2oceansvibe Radio with John McInroy, leader of the intrepid Avis Unogwaja team. You can listen to Graeme Joffe’s chat with John, right here!
The team has been preparing for an event that brings to life the unique history of the Comrades, by following in the cycle tracks and footsteps of race legend, Phil Masterton-Smith, nicknamed “Unogwaja” – meaning Hare in isiZulu.
The grueling journey started on 24 May 2012 in Cape Town, where the Avis Unogwaja team began with their road cycle from Cape Town to Pietermaritzburg (1 677km), after which they’ll complete the Comrades Ultra Marathon (89km) on day 11 of their journey.
