A protest march is currently underway and heading towards the Goodman Gallery, with people having been bussed in from as far as Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

Representatives of the All African Federation of Churches, dressed in purple religious attire, also joined the protest because they felt “the painting dehumanised Zuma.” Check out all the action, and protest signs, in the gallery below.

In related news, the Film and Publication Board (FPB) has not made a classification decision yet regarding the painting. Last week we reported that they sent a team of five classifiers to view and classify  “The Spear”.

Mmapula Fisha, chief operations officer of the board, said the classifiers had made “opinions over the portrait” but a decision had not been reached.
