I’ve seen my fair share of weird stuff, but this literally takes the cake!

An art installation has caused outrage from the African community in Sweden. Supposedly highlighting the ordeal of female circumcision, the stunt involved a cake depicting a black African woman with a minstrel-esque face. Everytime someone sliced a piece, the woman’s head screamed as if in pain.

Sweden’s Culture minister, Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth, was presented with the cake at World Art Day in Stockholm, where she was invited to give it a “clitoridectomy“. The event (paid for by Sweden’s taxpayers) was met with a harsh backlash social media users around the world.
