A fresh new report has confirmed that the man who went on three shooting outings in and around Toulouse in France (and probably filmed all of it), one Mohammed Merah (pictured), has been killed, according to police sources. Bursts of gunfire have been heard at the scene of a stand-off between a suspected gunman and police in the French city of Toulouse.

Officers have reportedly entered the flat where Mohammed Merah, who allegedly killed seven people including three schoolchildren, is holed up.

Merah reportedly wants to “die with weapons in his hands” and the building where he is besieged is surrounded by hundreds of police.

Police sources said officers were moving “step-by-step” through the ground floor property amid concerns it may be booby-trapped, and the suspected gunman had not yet been located.

Three loud explosions were heard earlier outside the flat. They were caused by grenades used by officers to try to pressure him into giving himself up, sources said.

Video footage has emerged of Merah, 24, who is besieged in an apartment in Toulouse for a second day.
It is not clear if he is still alive after officers had no contact with him during the night, said interior minister Claude Gueant.
