Now you see it…
Now you don’t.
Well this is all kinds of wow. Mercedes have developed a new hyrdogen fuel cell technology for their latest vehicle ranges which they claim has zero emissions, and is thus “invisible to the environment”.
Taking that concept to the next level, they spent a week rolling a tricked out version of one of their cars around Germany to promote the new F-Cell. They coated one side of the car in LED sheets, and mounted a camera on the other side. Result? Well, see for yourself:

Okay, well it’s not exactly 007’s invisible Aston Martin Vanquish, but it’s still a super effect, something akin to the giant screen in a sports stadium rolling around town. Anyway, who in their right mind would want to disguise the fact that they’re driving a fancy new Merc around? Big props on the zero emissions fuel cell, though. Even if they can’t make their cars truly disappear, at least they’re making inroads on their motors’ emissions.
[Thanks, Steyn!]
