Next-day etiquette is a tricky thing to nail. You’ve spent the night with someone who is essentially a stranger so that you could share a momentary, mutual benefit, and now you’re paying the price. Usually exchanges are limited to a few awkward words and an amicable goodbye, usually…
Following what can only be assumed was a one night stand, a girl identified only as “JJ” sent her gentleman caller, Kevin, a relatively harmless text message,
Hey Kevin. Would u like to get together tonight? Im off work tomorrow! Besides, I want to see ur face again 😉
Kevin replied in similar fashion,
Just woke up. Man I am dead. Actually I already have plans playing cards with the guys tonight. Sorry.
I will text u later. Have fun at work 😉
It was just after receiving that text that JJ’s crazy switch flipped to the “on” position. Kevin, the poor victim had enough foresight to take screen shots of their entire exchange, which was decidedly one-sided, and share it with the world.
Amongst those who picked it up were Fletch & Vaughn, a radio duo from New Zealand who hosts a show called “The Edge”. On a recent broadcast, Vaughn took it upon himself to re-enact the text exchange with gloriously hilarious results. Vaughn beautifully captures JJ’s tone and his impersonation of her voice is priceless.
