Local wags have already re-dubbed the title, using words that sound like “shores”…
Here at the 2oceansVibe compound, we’ve been following the development of this little bit of lekker for over a year now, and have been waiting with bated breath to finally see it. Our patience will soon be… er, rewarded, as youth channel Vuzu (channel 123) on DStv have acquired the rights to screen the show this year, though they have yet to announce quite when they’ll fit it in between reruns of Moesha, Glee and Gossip Girl.
To recap, Clifton Shores is a “reality” show in the oeuvre of MTV’s Laguna Beach or ITV’s The Only Was Is Essex (so, Jersey Shore, but wa-aay classier) that follows a coven of imported LA lovelies as they take no prisoners for a season on Cape Town’s high-end social scene. The ladies were accommodated in a rather lush Clifton villa for their stay, and spent their time selling t-shirts in a shack at the Waterfront working for series producer Quinton van den Bergh’s entertainment outfit, Quintessential, while also causing heartache among a cast of shirtless local himbos, of course. As you do.
To recap further, the trailer:
Prepare to have your mind… numbed! See you soon on Vuzu; Jamillette, Rikki, Claire, Kathy, Katie, Destiny and Raquel!
