BBC weather forecaster, Alex Deakin, managed to predict what no other weather forecaster has previously forecast on Saturday evening’s BBC World weather report. He meant to say “sunshine”, but he definitely didn’t, and instead conjured up a very strange weather prediction indeed. N5FW.

A Freudian slip, named after the famous psycho-analyst, Sigmund Freud, is defined as an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is interpreted as occurring due to the interference of some unconscious subdued wish, conflict, or train of thought.

It’s not clear what might have caused this slip, but Deakin’s utterance conjured up a very strange image for Sunday’s weather across the UK.

Deakin has been presenting the weather on the BBC for the past five years, and managed to finish his forecast with no further blunders.

He also managed to see the lighter side of his mistake by tweeting afterwards, “I think the less said the better about that last broadcast”, before adding the hash-tag #P45.

A P45 is a form containing an employees tax details, and is issued by a UK employer to an employee when said employee leaves said employment.

Deakin still has his job at the moment.
