Aah, the burdens of leadership…
Ugh, let’s all drop the cloying valentines hearts, and get our first taste of a sweet little piece of cinematography coming our way later this year from producer Tim Burton, and director Timur Bekmambetov (of Russia’s Day Watch and Night Watch fame), based on the fantastically popular genre novel, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter!
This treat has got all the right names attached, Burton for one, is a master of the genre, and Bekmambetov has made big waves on both sides of the Atlantic with his grim, visceral Watch-series.
The cast is strong, but luckily not burdened with a big name that will pull focus from the storyline (yes you, Hugh Jackman in Van Helsing!). It’s not going to do the business of the superhero or Middle Earth fodder we’re in for this year, but if you’re into tasty, scary genre adaptations, then this should be high on your list.
