Four men have been apprehended and arrested over the weekend in connection with last week Tuesday’s murder of Bronx nightclub owner, Bruno Bronn. The men are due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court today.
Bronn’s domestic worker at his house on Ocean View Drive discovered the 50-year-old’s body shortly before 09h00 last Tuesday. He was lying on his back on the floor, his hands bound with tape in front of him.
Reports suggest he had marks around his neck, but it wasn’t known whether anything was stolen from the house or not.
Western Cape police moved swiftly, and on Saturday morning two men were apprehended and charged with Bronn’s murder.
Warrant Officer, November Filander explained that a 36-year-old man was arrested at around 10h00 on Saturday in the Bo-Kaap, Cape Town. A second man, 29, from Salt River, was then taken for questioning, and then subsequently arrested.
Later on Saturday, a third suspect – a 35-year-old man – was apprehended in Albow Gardens, Brooklyn.
Officers also managed to trace Bronn’s stolen BMW to a complex in Parklands, Milnerton.
The fourth suspect, another male, was arrested in Goodwood around 10h30 on Sunday morning as part of a joint operation between police and the metro police’s substance abuse unit. His vehicle was also sequestered as police suspected it might have been used to help commit the crime.
Further charges could be added as investigations continued, Filander explained, but the four would initially be charged with murder.
