Hey whatsup, GIRLFRIEND!!
Well it’s all gone full circle – you’ll recall the other day when the Cape Times questioned Julius Malema’s gender and now, just six weeks later, he is up for the prestigious accolade at this year’s Feather Awards, being held on Saturday night.
Jules..
Timeslive reports:
Julie’s such a drama queen, doll
South Africa’s gay community is throwing an awards ceremony to honour inspirational and influential celebrities — including ANC Youth League president Julius Malema
Feather Award nominees include Malema (drama queen), rugby star Bryan Habana(sports personality), and socialite Khanyi Mbau (drama queen).
Malema told The Times he could not comment on his nomination: “I don’t know what a drama queen is. I am in politics, I am not in drama, how can I comment about something I don’t know about?”
Feather Awards founder Thami Kotlolo said the categories include role model, fag hag, cutest couple, hot chick and hunk of the year.
He said: “The awards are about glamour, fun — a night of sheer fabulosity where everyone can come out and have fun.”
How awesome was that quote from Julia, by the way? To recap : “I don’t know what a drama queen is. I am in politics, I am not in drama, how can I comment about something I don’t know about?”
It’s all too perfect – you couldn’t stage this shit. I had to check the date that this article (and that quote) wasn’t published on April Fool’s day.
Good luck, Julia – we’re all rooting for you.
